A changing table is another must for the baby and you want to make sure that you get one that is the right height for you to be comfortable when changing your newborn. Of course, you want this to meet all safety standards as well.
You'll probably also want to consider buying a rocking chair so that you'll have a place to sit and rock while you are reading to or feeding your baby. Don't forget to buy one that has either a comfortable seat or get an optional seat cushion so that you are rocking in comfort.
The furniture isn't the only thing you put into your baby's room, your going to need a nice comforter set, curtains and bedding to give the room that soft touch and give your baby a soft place to lay. Don't forget the crib cushions that cushion your baby from bumping into the railings on the crib.
Some other things you might consider include a mobile which hangs from the crib to entertain your newborn, a diaper pail, a bureau or dresser to put clothes in and, of course, a variety of toys and stuffed animals.
